The Chamber of Commerce is the voice for local businesses. It is made up of more than 500 members, led by 20 board members and is staffed by 5 knowledgeable employees. It is the only organization in our area working full time to enhance our business environment and make our community a better place to live and work. Chamber membership can be a great investment.

Referrals – Every year the Chamber makes numerous telephone referrals for its members. The Chamber is the place to go for information on local businesses. By not being a member, businesses can miss out on potential clients.

Website – The Toombs-Montgomery Chamber website is another great way for businesses to get referrals. Each member’s business information can be found through the Chamber’s online search engine. This is a fast and convenient way for customers to find businesses that can meet their needs.

Great Place to Shop Program - Chamber gift checks are available at the Chamber of Commerce and are redeemable at a variety of Chamber member retailers in Toombs and Montgomery Counties . Any Chamber member can sign up to be a participating merchant. With over 50 merchants to choose from, it is an easy and versatile gift. Networking Opportunities – Being a member of the Chamber means that you are part of a network of businesses in our community with the same interests and goals. We provide avenues to meet prospective clients through ribbon cuttings, groundbreakings, the annual membership meeting, annual golf tournament and Showcasing Toombs-Montgomery. Several of these events give businesses opportunities to show off their products.

Drugs Don’t Work – Certified drug-free workplaces in Georgia receive a 7.5% discount on workers’ compensation premiums. The Toombs-Montgomery Chamber staff guides chamber members step-by-step in achieving this certification. Drugs Don’t Work members receive:  a substance abuse policy, discounted drug-testing rates, information to meet employee and supervisor education requirements and a list counseling and treatment centers in the area. By being a member of the Chamber’s Drug Free Workplace program, businesses have access to free legal assistance through the Georgia Chamber of Commerce. Drugs Don’t Work is a program of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce.

Publications –The Chamber offers resource publications such as the Dining and Lodging Guide, Meeting Facilities and Caterers List, Realtors Guide, a community magazine, and Vidalia Onion Growers and Shippers List. These publications are a useful tool in referring our Chamber business members to tourists and new residents.

Promotional Services – The Chamber offers promotional services to members by offering ribbon cutting and groundbreaking ceremonies, introducing new members in the news and events section on the Chamber's homepage and offering updates on members via blast fax and blast email. We work with the local media on covering ribbon cutting groundbreaking ceremonies providing extra exposure for new and expanding businesses. Weekly faxes/email are sent to members to keep them informed of local activities and chamber events. 

Discount Health Insurance - MemberCare Alliance of Toombs-Montgomery County is a program that makes group health insurance and other employee benefit products available at reduced premium rates. The group health insurance plan is underwritten by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Georgia.
